Sometimes it can be tough cooking for your family with various tastes. Like do you cook from scratch or boxed items? My son likes a boxed Salisbury steak where all I do is put in the oven and cook it. My husband prefers the homemade version of this recipe.
Does one really save money on some recipes if they cook it from scratch? I choose to make homemade cornbread muffins yesterday from the recipe on the side of the box. My husband asked at supper time if I made them from scratch. I said yes. He feels the homemade recipe is lacking something. He says he prefers the Jiffy box of cornbread muffins.
There are also many recipes to be found that are similar to Hamburger helper. I believe the homemade version is better because I love to use cheese in my hamburger helper style dishes.
Cooking is trial and error when you have a family.
What do you think about cooking two different dishes from the box or from scratch? Could your family tell the difference? What could I do different to the homemade version to make it better?
