First, let me say I choose to have a night shift job because the pay is better. I also choose to continue to be blogging day after day. Some weeks I work 3 nights a week, which is 12 hours a shift. I am the type of person that comes home and goes straight to bed if I can help it. Today was not that day. I came home and ended up going to the dentist office with my husband. I could feel my head drop as I would doze asleep sitting in the waiting room. Finally, home a little after 10. I laid on the bed with the television on at first it felt I couldn’t fall asleep then I did but wasn’t enough as I kept dozing off and on. Working nights is horrible on your body. I can never get enough sleep sometimes.
There are days that I work more than one in a row. I work then come home and sleep as long as I can. Most of the time I am awake by 1 pm. I watch my soap opera till 2 then I make myself leave the bedroom. I start to work on the computer. There are certain tasks that I do daily. My first task I do is do my daily Swagbucks tasks. I do Swagbucks to earn gift cards. I check email then on to regular blogging tasks. I try to watch the time. By around 4:30 or so, I try to leave the computer and work in the kitchen. I check to see if dishes need to be emptied from the dishwasher or to be loaded in. I start to work on cooking dinner. Then back to work after dinner, I leave around 6:20 pm.
Then there are days that I work a night shift and come home and sleep a couple hours. Then I am off that night. Some days it is so hard to leave the bed. My husband normally comes home for lunch so I make sure I am up and moving by 11:30 when he comes home so I can make him lunch. After that is done, it is computer time. I take a break to watch my soap at 1 pm.
Besides working and sleeping during the day, I still have to do the regular housework. Between cleaning, dishes, laundry and cooking meals. There have been times that I have slacked on housework and was at the computer more.
I continue to blog work to help others find ways to save money whether it is a coupon, a deal, or frugal tips. Well, yes and of course I would like to make some money from the blog as well. Some days it can be a struggle to figure out what I am writing about or what deal to post and what time to post it. It would be nice some day where I didn’t have to pick up extra days at my job because I am making a sufficient income from my blog. I continue each day to work on the blog almost any time of day I am working on the blog. I may be thinking about new post ideas or retweeting a post on twitter.
Maybe you have a side job besides your regular full-time job that means a great deal to you like my blog does. I am sure you understand the constant struggle to work both situations and your household duties as well.
What is your side job or what is your blog about ?
