Does the television distract you from doing what you should be doing? So you find yourself stuck in front of the television watching various shows. Television can be distracting for anyone. That is why they make the shows so attractive for a person to watch. Someone just has to turn the show and find out what happened on the last episode. People may be fans of the show on Facebook then will see a video of the upcoming episode which also makes you want to watch the great cliffhanger they leave you.
You are not alone. I hate to admit it, I find myself in that same position each day. I work night shift (12-hour shifts). So I miss many of the television series that are on. I sleep during the day, about on average about 5 hours at the most. I get home from work and go straight to bed. When I wake up, depends on if I have to work that night again. I wake up and the bed feels so comfortable. I think about what shows I missed the night before. Right now Wednesdays are bad because I have to watch the shows from Tuesday which is about 4 shows. I feel I have to watch my shows during the day because once my husband gets home he takes over the television for mainly sports or his shows. Some nights I may not even be able to watch the show that night when it is on because I do not have cable or because my husband is watching on that television. We no longer have cable in our house. We have an Amazon FireStick and Netflix.
I feel I get sucked into television shows. I keep telling myself in my mind I need to get up and do something. I could be cleaning the house or doing dishes. I could be doing some productive type of work on my blog. What could be done today could be done tomorrow some say. But I need to change my ways. My blogging habits need to change. Money that could be made tomorrow could be made today.
What could change for me and others?
Set a certain amount of time that television can be watched.
Set out a plan of things that need to be done each day. If those things get done, then the television can be watched.
Make certain things in your life a priority. Is cleaning a dishes a priority? Is blogging(making extra money) a priority? Or is watching that television show you missed really something you need to do?
Do a task like washing dishes then watch a show then do another task.
Put a load of laundry in the washing machine during a commercial. Then fold the clothes while watching the show of your pleasing.
Maybe you should need to exercise — there are ways to exercise while you watch your television show.
So now think about your life. Do you find yourself watching too much television? Could you be more productive wiht your day? Think about how you could be changing your daily routine and what are your priorities?
